[edit] Lauri Firstenberg is the Founder and Director/Curator of LA ART – the newest nonprofit contemporary art space in Los Angeles. Firstenberg has published widely in the field of contemporary art for Afterall, Art Papers, Contemporary, Frieze, Parkett, Flash Art, Nka, Camera Austria, Lab 71 and has contributed to a host of exhibition catalogues internationally. Firstenberg has curated exhibitions and public projects including Daniel Joseph Martinez: How I Fell in Love With My Dirty Bomb, TOROLAB: SOS Emergency Architecture, Ruben Ochoa: Extracted, Lisa Tan: One Night Stand, and Mark Bradford: Niagara. She is presently producing Thomas Lawson: History/Painting and Adria Julia: A Means of Passing the Time at LA ART.Biographie
[edit] Lauri Firstenberg a fondé et dirige LA ART, espace non lucratif dédié à l’art contemporain à Los Angeles. Elle a publié ses texts dans Afterall, Art Papers, Contemporary, Frieze, Parkett, Flash Art, Nka, Camera Austria, Lab 71 et elle a contribué à de nombreux catalogues d’expositions. En tant que curator, elle a organize des expositions comme Daniel Joseph Martinez: How I Fell in Love With My Dirty Bomb, TOROLAB: SOS Emergency Architecture, Ruben Ochoa: Extracted, Lisa Tan: One Night Stand, and Mark Bradford: Niagara. Is it the place where we would listen to the music of the birds, and long to have wings to fly, even as they, to distant lands? Or the place where we would sit at mother's knee, enraptured by wonderful tales of great deeds and conquests? In short, is it love for the spot, every inch representing dear and precious recollections of a happy, joyous, and playful childhood?
